Real review of a fake book

Another one in my series of Books in my Head. The idea of making little videos arose from an urge to attract some kind of attention from the influential #booktok crowd. I was hoping after they saw evidence of my creativity they might be prompted to buy Ink from the Pen.

I can’t say it worked. I frankly never conquered TikTok, and though fun, creating these little videos was time-consuming, and after doing a half-dozen, I thought probably I should be spending that time writing. (I was taking advantage of a Discord/Midjourney subscription — hence the ai art.)

But these are creative. I love making up shit.

Mahmoud update: Because of the war Netanyahu started, the crossings that allow humanitarian aid into Gaza have been closed. This is potentially disastrous for the Gazan population, already barely holding on. I immediately sent Mahmoud $400 to buy as much back-up food as he could — heavy on pasta and on rice, as there is, of course, no refrigeration, before the prices really skyrocket.

The pressure to share with various desperate sets of cousins, and his sister Hala, will be intense, of course he will have to do what he must do.

I am luckily working my ass off and making enough to stay afloat and still help.

The war is insane. The consequence on the Gaza is getting no coverage in the MSM. I curse this regime that does this, but Mahmoud’s reaction is along the lines of, “I despise war, no matter who its victims. No one deserves to be bombed. I just want to live in peace, me and my family.”

Indeed. Who can argue with that?
